Welcome to the
Enhanced Preparation for
Intensive Care Medicine program
How do I get on the course?
EPIC is currently only offered to trainees in the Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust on an invitation basis.
New Developments
EPIC is beginning a program of regional expansion and the aim is for it to be provided in several centres in West Yorkshire over the coming months. The web site is likely to change significantly in light of this.
What EPIC hopes to achieve
The focus in this course is on giving IMT trainees, junior anaesthetists, emergency medicine and acute medicine trainees the knowledge and skills they need to excel when they first start a placement in intensive care medicine. It was created by consultants and trainees with one main thing in mind – what do we wish we had been taught before we started? Currently. registration for the course is automatic. If you are invited, you do not need to book study leave and you will be released from your clinical duties for the day, unless you are are due to be on-call. For those that cannot attend due to on-call duties, we will endeavour to arrange a place on the subsequent course.
For further information on the course, please click the "agenda" tab above.
EPIC is a blended-learning program that equips residents who are new to intensive care medicine with the essential knowledge they need to excel in the early stages of their rotation
Delegates benefit from bespoke online learning resources, lectures, practical and clinical scenario-based teaching and simulation sessions to prepare effectively for safe critical care practice
