How do I get on the course?

You need to register your interest via the YAIRN website. Registration is open for a limited time twice a year.

New Developments

EPIC is beginning a program of regional expansion and the aim is for it to be provided in several centres in Yorkshire over the coming months. The current location of the face-to-face training session is Trust HQ at Pinderfields Hospital

What EPIC hopes to achieve

The focus in this course is on giving trainees the knowledge and skills they need to excel when they first start a placement in intensive care medicine. It was created by consultants and trainees with one main thing in mind – what do we wish we had been taught before we started? Currently, registration for the course is completed via the YAIRN website. If you are given a place on the course, you will need to book study leave locally. If you register interest but are unable to attend, we will get in touch with you about alternative arrangements and may be able to give you access to the online platform so that you can access the educational material.

Is there an exam or pass / fail element to this course?

No. This course is designed to improve your confidence, and you will benefit from continous coaching and interactive teaching. Online materials may attract some brief MCQ-style questions for sign-off in the future, but these will be for educational purposes only, in order to direct you toward your own further learning.
